Lemon-Herbed Steak
Great for company but also quick and easy.

Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Servings: Serves 4

2 beef top loin steaks cut 1-inch thick
1 tsp. grated lemon zest
1 large clove garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/4 tsp. pepper

Lemon-Herbed Steak

In small bowl, combine lemon zest, garlic, thyme and pepper. Press mixture into both sides of steaks.
Place steaks on grid over medium ash-covered coals. Grill uncovered 16-18 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally.
Trim fat from steaks. Carve steaks crosswise into thick slices. Season with salt as desired.

  • When removing zest from lemon, be careful not to grate into the bitter, white pith.
  • Steaks can also be broiled in the oven.
